這是一種定性的橫向流動免疫層析法，用于檢測人口咽、鼻和鼻咽拭子中的SARSCoV-2抗原。
該盒含有與金納米顆粒結合的抗SARS-CoV-2/COVID19單克隆抗體，金納米顆粒與樣本中存在的任何SARS-CoV-2抗原結合。抗SARS-CoV-2的單克隆抗體被包裹在硝化纖維素膜上的測試區域，該膜與抗原抗體復合物結合，并由于金納米顆粒而形成彩色線。盒式磁帶上端的控制區域確認測試是否成功。

該試劑盒包含一組熒光探針引物，用于區分2019 nCoV/COVID19/SARS-CoV-2和SARS-CoV（bat SARS相關CoV）。SARS-CoV-2 RNA可在FAM通道中檢測到，SARS-CoV RNA可在HEX、VIC或JOE通道中檢測到（取決于所用設備）。
